Canadian singer James Gordon will give a performance at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi on the evening of June 27 to celebrate Canada's National Day, which falls on July 1.

Gordon will also hold a question and answer programme for students of the Hanoi Conservatory and the ACC English-language training centre.
The Canadian singer is known to many music lovers as the founder of Canada’s leading folk group Tamarack.

Gordon and his group released 14 albums with songs featuring Canada's cultural identity. He has composed many works for children, and symphony orchestras, and written music for theatre, dances and films. He was also a regular song-writing contributor to the radio programmes "Ontario Morning" and "Basic Black."

His song, " Frobisher Bay", was selected as the most popular Canadian song by local audiences. It has been recorded by many artists around the world.
The performance will be jointly organised by the Performance Organising Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information and the Canadian Embassy in Hanoi.
