A Cambodian culture week, the first of its kind in Vietnam, began in Ho Chi Minh City on June 26 with a performance of traditional Cambodian dances.

This was part of a series of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cambodia.

During the event, local movie-goers will have a chance to see famous films by Cambodian directors, including “A child’s love” and “Mother’s heart”.

On the same day, an exhibition was held at the city’s Exhibition Centre to feature the land, people and traditional cultural identities of Cambodia.

Similar cultural programmes will be launched in the southern provinces of Can Tho, Binh Duong and Soc Trang between June 25-30.
