A Cambodian Cultural Week, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will be held in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Soc Trang from June 25-30.

The event, jointly organised by the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information, will feature an art performance programme, an exhibition and film screenings.

The art performances will spotlight five dance pieces including Cambodia's classical dance of Apsara, which has been recognised as a world intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

An exhibition with the theme "Cambodia: land, people and traditional culture" will introduce visitors to photos, paintings, handicrafts and art works in wood, bronze, silver and stone that reflect Cambodia's development, traditional culture and daily lives of its people.

Four Cambodian feature films will be screened on this occasion.
