Cambodia wants to cooperate with Vietnam to develop eco-tourism in Vietnam’s southern Kien Giang province and four Cambodian border provinces, said Secretary of State for Tourism Thong Khon leading a Cambodian delegation on a two-day visit to Kien Giang province from July 31- August 1.

The delegation suggested Kien Giang province cooperate with Cambodia’s Takeo, Kampot, Kompong Cham and Kompong Thom to develop tourism on both land and sea.

Through the Xa Xia border gate in Kien Giang province, tourists from Cambodia can visit famous tourist sites of the Ha Tien-Kien Luong complex in Kien Giang in a one-hour car trip. It is also only a one-hour ferry ride from Ha Tien to the Cambodian city of Kep.

In addition, after Phu Quoc Island in Kien Giang province develops into an international-standard ecotourism resort site, the province promises to become an ideal destination for Cambodian tourists.
