A book on the Vietnam-Netherlands relations over the past four centuries was presented at a seminar at the Social Sciences and Humanities College based in Ho Chi Minh City on May 20.
Entitled “Lion and Dragon: Four centuries of Vietnam-Netherlands relations”, the book traces the history of relations between the two countries from the early 17th century. It is published in Dutch, English and Vietnamese.
The seminar discussed economic, trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries and the impact of these relations on their societies.
It also introduced Vietnam’s overseas-targeted economic activities, its potential and the recent development of bilateral relations, particularly after Vietnam joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
