Vietnam’s largest “thuy mac” (ink-and-wash) painting was showcased in Ho Chi Minh City on February 18.

The 4.5m long and 1.1m wide painting, entitled “Tram Hoa Dua No” (A hundred flowers bloom), was drawn by 18 artists from District 5’s Fine Arts Club with the aim of praising the country’s sceneries.

The ink-and-wash technique of painting originated from China in which both watercolour and tempera are used to create the desired effect.
