Vietnamese artist Pham Thi Doan Thanh, who lives in Germany, opened her exhibition of paintings at Biesdorf castle, Berlin, on October 11.

On display were silk paintings, colour paintings and woodblock paintings, featuring the northern mountainous regions of Vietnam. Thanh’s works were inspired by her visits to Vietnam.

Visitors to the exhibition can find a vivid portrayal of the daily activities of ethnic groups in the northern mountainous region. Her paintings have left a deep impression on German viewers about Vietnam’s land and its people, as well as the traditional cultures of ethnic groups in the country.

The exhibition also displayed some paintings by disabled children from Ho Chi Minh City. All the paintings were done in bright colours and reflect the children’s dreams.
