Professor Ross Fitzgerald, historical and political researcher at the Australian University of Griffith, came to Vietnam in late February to collect data in preparation for the first Australia-Vietnam co-operative film on late President Ho Chi Minh.

The film, which is intended to be named "Ho", will cover the period well-known Australian journalist W. Burchett stayed and worked in Vietnam to get to know Vietnamese people and support their resistance war against the US aggressors, as well as the friendship between him and President Ho Chi Minh. The film script, written by Peter M Cherry, is based on Professor Fitzgerald’s ideas.

During his three-day stay in Vietnam, Mr. Fitzgerald worked with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Information and some other Vietnam film companies such as the Giai Phong (Liberated) and TFS.
