The 8th Asian Wushu Championships began at Phu Tho Competition House in Ho Chi Minh City on August 21.
About 350 martial artists from 22 countries and territories are competing in the Taolu and Sanshou events for nearly 40 sets of medals.
Vietnamese athletes trained for the tournament from August 1-3, and they aim to bag four gold medals to rank among the top five winners.
The five-day tournament is being co-organised by the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Administration, HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Municipal Martial Arts Federation, and An Vien Television (AVG).
