Archers vie for national tourney trophy
(VOV) -Approximately130 athletes began competitions at the 16th National Archery Tournament, in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long on May 3.
Athletes are representing the 14 localities of Hanoi, Haiphong, Phu Tho, Hung Yen, Bac Kan, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Can Tho, Vinh Long, and HCM City.
The competition includes male and female singles, doubles, and team events for both compound and recurve bows. Distances range between 30–90m for men and 30–70m for women.
The annual event, which will run through to May 10, helps local athletes improve their skills. Results will also determine national archery squad selections ahead of regional and international competitions like the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Myanmar and the 2019 Asian Games (ASIAD) in Vietnam.
