Amateur Chinese chess tourney opens
(VOV) -More than 120 players are competing at the 15thChinese Chess Tournament, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on May 12.
The amateur competitors, aged between 16 and45, considered the event an excellent opportunity to sharpen their professional skills, gain more experience, and boost the development of the traditional games.
Hoang Dinh Hong, chief coach of the national chess team, said he was impressed by some of the players’ outstanding performances that demonstrated skills as good as those participating in professional competitions.
The tournament will last until May 19.
