The Deputy PM also asked the Vietnam Journalists Association to cooperate with related agencies to review the results of a project to assist cultural and press activities in national and local literature and cultural associations in the 2006-2010 period.

This review is planned to allow them to submit a draft plan for the 2011-2015 period to the Prime Minister for consideration, said Mr Nhan.

“The project is aimed at supporting works in literature, arts music, theater, movie, architecture, dance, folklore, ethnic minority culture and the press in reflecting the country’s history, the course of national development and defence as well as illustrating prominent individuals in the society,” he said.

The total investment capital for the 2006-2010 period was VND210 billion, of which VND98.5 billion went to national cultural and press associations and VND117.5 billion to local associations.
