An event featuring films, concerts and talks will be held in the city November 9-10 to mark the 12th anniversary of relations between HCM City and the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Pusan.

The Korean film Shiny Day, which will be shown at HCM City ’s Diamond Plaza Cinema, will kick off the festival. Seven other new Korean films will be shown at the cinema, including April Snow, 200-Pound Beauty and You Are My Sunshine.

Vietnamese and Korean film-makers will meet on November 10 at the cinema to discuss exchanges between the two countries’ film industries.

The city’s Opera House will be the site of the Vietnam-Korea Cultural Night. Both Korean and Vietnamese traditional and contemporary dances will be performed by the HCM City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra, and XTC, one of Korea ’s most well-known hip-hop bands.

The highlight of the evening will be Korean children singing Vietnamese folk songs, including trong com (cylindrical drums) and Vietnamese children singing Korean folk songs.
