The jury board of the qualifying round for northern contestants included Miss Vietnam 1994 Nguyen Thu Thuy, Linh Nga dancer, journalist and poet Tran Huu Viet, Professor Hoang Tu Hung and painter Nguyen Quan. Second runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2008, Thuy Van was the MC of the programme.

22 outstanding contestants were selected after taking part in Ao Dai (traditional long dress), Bikini and gala dress rounds. Together with 15 beauties from southern provinces, they will represent the northern region to enter the final round of the 2010 Miss Vietnam which will be held in Tuan Chau resort, Quang Ninh province, in early August.
