The event, part of several activities to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, is the third of its kind co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy and the Japanese government.
Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh said that the Vietnam Festival has become an annual event since the success of the first festival in 2008. The festival has won great applause and received special attention from the Japanese people.
According to the organising board, this year’s event will include many music and dance performances by both Vietnamese and Japanese artists. It is expected to attract 100,000 visitors.
Visitors to the festival will have an opportunity to get better understanding of Vietnamese musical instruments and traditional culture. They will also have the chance to taste Vietnamese food and buy traditional Vietnamese handicrafts.
