The event will be held by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam culture and arts exhibition centre and DC Music and Entertainment JSC.

Renowned Hanoi flower artisans will present samples of fresh flowers, silk and paper flowers, as well as cyclos, bicycles, conical hats and fans decorated with flowers. A dragon decorated with fresh flowers will be placed in the centre of the city.

Other cultural activities such as presenting traditional long dresses (Ao Dai) made from flowers, stage performances, dancing, hip-hop performances and flower arrangement will also be held. A model of Hanoi Old Quarters made of ceramics will be rehearsed. Artisans from Chang Son village are making a fan, which is 12m in diameter and 4.5m high to contribute to the festival.

The organization said that a flower street festival replicating the look and feel of the flower streets will be held annually around Hoan Kiem Lake during the traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).
