The 2008 Cua Lo Waterways Tourism Festival will officially begin at Van Loc Temple and Binh Minh Square in Cua Lo town, central Nghe An province, on April 30 and May Day with many sports activities, rituals, special art shows and a firework display.
The festival will include a traditional boat race and folk games.
Cua Lo authorities said they strive to build the town into a civilized tourism urban area with excellent services, clean sea and sustainable development.
Tourists to Cua Lo can enjoy its natural beauty, blue and clean sea, traditional dishes and cultural “products” such as melodies of folk songs peculiar to this region.
They also have a chance to visit the homeland of two world cultural celebrities - President Ho Chi Minh and Great Poet Nguyen Du - and the temple of General-Emperor Quang Trung.
