With the aim of introducing the special culture of each nation and sending messages about the need to protect the environment and the green earth to every people, contestants competed in four sections - traditional costume, Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress), bikinis and evening dress.

Thirty contestants from around the world showed the beauty of both their appearance and national culture.

The organising board presented “Miss Charm” for Yoo Ji Eun from the Republic of Korea, “Miss Fitness” for Odilia Garcia from Peru, “Best in Ao Dai” for Patricia Andrde from Brazil and “Miss Fashion” for Truong Tri Truc Diem from Vietnam.

The organising board, Vinpearl Land and Miss Earth 2006 offered VND1.650 billion and US$1,000 to charitable activities in Vietnam.
