As part of the festival, more than 500 amateur artists from 19 districts and towns in the central province of Nghe An participated in the mass arts contest entitled "Uncle Ho and the cultural identities of Nghe An ethnic groups", with more than 150 music items. Another event in the festival was a contest of beauty, traditional ethnic costumes and cultural behaviour held in Kim Lien Commune of Nam Dan district.

Meanwhile, the Nghe An Cinema Centre launched free screenings of such movies as "Uncle Ho during historic moments", "Uncle Ho’s last minutes", and "Forever with the time" in Vinh City and Kim Lien Commune. In addition, the provincial Nghe An Museum and Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum displayed photos of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in Kim Lien.
