Under the theme Mot Ngay Moi (A new day), the event featured famous local pop singers My Linh, Quang Dung, Ho Quynh Huong, Phuong Thanh, Thu Minh, Duc Tuan, and Ho Ngoc Ha. They were joined by overseas - based performers Huong Lan, Elvis Phuong, Duy Quang, Duc Huy, and especially a newcomer Lynda Trang Dai.

Duyen Dang Vietnam also drew the participation of beauties from recent contests such as the Miss Photographic 2005, and the Vietnam Super Model.

The event was organised by Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper to mark its 20^th anniversary. The event was one of the 10 most outstanding cultural events this year, according to Ministry of Culture and Information.
