At least 14 people were killed and 13 others injured when a roof collapsed on the morning of November 23 in northwest Pakistan's Swat area, local media reported.

According to the local Urdu TV channel ARY, the tragedy happened in Buner in the early morning of November 23 when the roof of a house suddenly collapsed, killing many people who were praying at a funeral.

The people killed in the accident included eight women and four children, police said.

All the injured people have been moved to a nearby hospital and hospital sources said some of the injured were in critical condition so the death toll might rise.

It is not known yet what caused the roof to collapse, but local officials believed that the construction quality of the houses could be at fault.
