Vietnam, Myanmar agree upon visa exemption

(VOV) - An agreement on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders will officially take effect from October 26, 2013.

Under the agreement, the two countries’ citizens who have ordinary passports valid for at least six months will be exempt from entry, exit and transit visas for a maximum stay of 14 days.

If citizens require a stay of more than 14 days, they should apply for an entry visa before travelling.

So far, Vietnamese ordinary passport holders have been exempt from entry, exit and transit visas in nine ASEAN member nations. However, before each trip, they should examine duration of stay for visa exemption at the e-portal:www.lanhsuvietnam.gov.vn.
