The Vietnamese embassy in Cuba held a wide rage of activities to mark New Year’s Day with the participation of representatives from Vietnam News Agency, the Ministries of Defence and Trade and nearly 200 students and overseas Vietnamese.

On the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Pham Tien Tu extended his best wishes on New Year Day to the whole Vietnamese community in Cuba.

At a get-together with overseas Vietnamese and representatives of some enterprises in Cuba, Mr Tu introduced the country’s socio-economic situation in recent years, as well as its open door policy to attract foreign investment and create favourable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to visit and contribute to building the homeland. Mr Tu also presented gifts to outstanding Vietnamese students studying in Cuba.
