The Vietnam Business Association (VBS) in Russia on February 15 held a conference to review its operations in 2008 and work out new plans for 2009.

Addressing the conference, President of the VBS Tran Dang Chung emphasised that the association will launch an online website, issue a handbook of Vietnamese businesses in Russia and provide a quarterly online newsletter to provide information to its members and other enterprises.

It will also engage in promoting investment and helping its members to share their experiences, improve their management skills and discuss new business opportunities through seminars, talks, training courses and exchange visits with Vietnamese enterprises in Russia.

Mr Chung added that the current global financial crisis has had an adverse impact on enterprises in many countries. Therefore, enterprises must seek out new effective operations by providing mutual assistance to each other. The VBS in Russia has traditionally linked state management agencies to businesses to create a combined strength and also plans to attract more enterprises in Russia to become members in the future.
