Deputy PM Minh hailed friendship exchanges marking the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties this year, including activities organised by Taekwang, saying the firm’s investment and business operations in Vietnam over the last two decades have contributed to the country's socio-economic development.
The group has also actively engaged in social and humanitarian aid activities in Vietnam, he noted while calling on Taekwang to expand investment using advanced and eco-friendly technology, effectively carry out the licensed projects, and participate in social and humanitarian activities as the way to reinforce the strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and the RoK.
For his part, Chairman Park briefed his host on Taekwang’s activities, especially the construction of the Hai Hau thermal power plant, fertiliser and footwear production projects, and the building of a vocational school.
He also assured the group's wish to increase investment, properly implement its projects and take part in Vietnam’s social welfare programmes.
On this occasion, he presented US$100,000 to support flood-stricken localities in central Vietnam.
