At a recent meeting of the Vietnam-Canada Business Council, representatives from Canadian companies wished to promote trade ties with Vietnamese enterprises.

A large number of Canadian companies such as TD Canada Trust Bank, Real Estate and Infrastructure Development Company ACDL, and Canada’s Travel and Entertainment Company DSL said they were very interested in projects on mineral exploration, energy, oil and gas in Vietnam.

The Vietnam-Canada Business Council had a plan to conduct its first Vietnamese market survey in May while Canadian businesses is seeking investment opportunities through direct contacts with leaders from Vietnam’s relevant ministries and agencies.

In their letters to the meeting of the council, Canadian‘s Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier and International Trade Minister David Emerson affirmed the significance of the Vietnamese market to Canadian investors and exporters and highlighted the council’s practical contribution to promoting trade and economic relations between Canada and Vietnam in recent times.

The Vietnam-Canada Business Council was established in early December 2007 with the aim of organising business forums and creating business opportunities for enterprises in both countries, introducing economic, trade, investment and legal affairs in each country, and setting up a business network between the two countries.
