Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy PM Khoan highly valued the great efforts by Vietnam News staff to turn the paper into an English language daily newspaper with the highest numbers of pages and copies among Vietnam’s foreign-language newspapers.
Vietnam News has kept on working to offer readers more features and more interesting layouts, which are attracting an increasing number of readers.
Mr Khoan stressed that in the coming period, Vietnam News should make foreign readers further understand about the country’s socio-economic development, and Party and State policies and guidelines, particularly Vietnam’s potential on socio-economic development and policies. Vietnam News should also raise its voice to provide the world with a proper view of Vietnam’s situation and policies and refute incorrect information.
Deputy PM Khoan asked Vietnam News staff to continue developing human resources, and training reporters and journalists having full understanding of the Party and State’s policies and guidelines, a high professional skill and fluent foreign language.
Over the past 15 years, Vietnam News has become a leading English language daily newspaper, and a major channel for overseas service. The paper is now providing readers with a wide range of choices, including Vietnam News daily, Vietnam News Sunday, Outlook Magazine and Vietnam News Online.
