The programme “The Vietnamese youth – the itinerary of Paying debts and gratitude” was signed by representatives of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the East Asia Joint Stock Bank in Hanoi.

This is part of activities to mark the 60^th anniversary of the War Martyrs’ Day (July 27) and encourage the nation to respond to the movement Paying Debts and Gratitude launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Under the programme, youth union members and pioneers at all levels will be encouraged to actively participate in the movement Paying Debts and Gratitude through practical activities to help invalids and families of social policy beneficiaries stablise their lives.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union will play host to major activities, namely an art exchange programme “The legend of Dong Loc” at the Dong Loc Intersection in the central province of Ha Tinh on July 24, a programme to present 1,000 blankets to heroic Vietnamese mothers and a conference to review five years of the movement Paying Debts and Gratitude in the northern mountainous province of Thai Nguyen on July 27.

Seventy-four children of war martyrs and invalids who excel in their studies will be granted scholarships on this occasion. 

The Youth Union, Vietnam Television and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) will jointly organise an art exchange show “The youth return to the roots” in Thai Nguyen province in the evening of July 27.

Thai Nguyen is one of the five places where celebrations will take place on July 27 and be broadcast live on the national TV network.
