The Vietnamese Olympic football team lost 0-1 to Lebanon at the Beirut Munical Stadium on May 16 in the second round of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The only goal was scored by striker Mongrabi in the sixth minute in the first half. Despite defeat, Vietnam showed both talent and skill.
The Vietnamese squad is still hopeful to manage a draw with Indonesia when they play at home on June 6.
Lebanon currently ranks first in group C with 12 points, followed by Vietnam with nine points and Oman with six points.
