Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen confirms that there remain problems in the Doha negotiation round and these problems will not be resolved this year. However, this will not affect Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Minister Tuyen says that Vietnam will finalise technical documents and conduct informal negotiations in September to settle the remaining issues in the accession process. If all goes to plan, a meeting of the WTO General Council will be held on October 10 to officially admit Vietnam to the trade body.
