The meeting, chaired by Nguyen Van Son, chairman of the NA Committee of External Affairs, planned implementation of activities as Vietnam assumes the role of AIPA president for the second time.

Mr. Son stressed that this is a great honor and responsibility to the Vietnam NA. “It needs careful preparation in order to fulfill the task and prove the dynamic efficiency of Vietnam’s National Assembly,” he said.

The subcommittees have planned many activities for the Vietnam NA delegation like participating in second AIPA-ASEAN meeting in Thailand, as well as developing information and communication projects for the AIPA chairman to consider and approve.

They have also made arrangements for AIPA-ASEAN leaders to meet in Thailand in April and have worked with the AIPA 31 secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia to prepare for the 31^st AIPA General Assembly, scheduled to take place in Hanoi from September 19-25.
