The International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL) has proposed helping Vietnamese Agent Orange victims in their on-going fight for justice after their failure at the US Federal appeal court.
IADL President Jitendra Sharma told Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong at a meeting in Hanoi on March 17 that “IADL is always a faithful friend to Vietnam.”

He said he is happy to see important socio-economic achievements recorded by Vietnam in the course of its development as well as its contributions to world growth.

The IADL president is visiting Vietnam to prepare for the 17th IADL congress slated for 2009. Vietnam is the first Asian country selected for hosting the IADL congress.

Mr Trong said the Vietnamese Government supports the IADL congress and will do its utmost to facilitate its operation.

He thanked the IADL for supporting Vietnam’s past struggle for national liberation and the Vietnamese AO victims’ current battle for justice.
