The Vietnam News Agency delegation led by General Director Tran Mai Huong joined the five-day event.

The congress held four discussions focusing on prominent issues in information work in the new age.

Representatives of around 70 news agencies throughout the globe and related organisations discussed clients’ demands in the age of information booming and put forth several initiatives on new communication products and services.

At the congress, the World Council of News Agencies agreed to elect Sergio Fernandez Novoa, Vice Chairman of the National News Agency of Argentina, Telam, as the Chair of the Council in the new tenure.

A number of bilateral and multilateral meetings also took place on the sidelines of the 3 rd WCNA.

The fourth World Congress of News Agencies is expected to be held in Saudi Arabia in 2013.
