Top Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh had a convincing win of 2-0 over world No.23 Yun Hu in the first round of the All England Open Badminton Super Series on March 7.
Minh easily dominated the first set and won 21-12 in just 12 minutes. However, he was then faced strong resistance from his rival and narrowly beat Hu 21-18.
He will play world No.3 Chen Long in the second round of the tournament, whom he defeated 2-0 at the 2012 Badminton World Federation (BWF)’s Thomas Cup in Macau (China) last February.
Mreanwhile, in the men’s doubles, Vietnam’s Bui Bang Duc-Dao Manh Thang lost to Singapore’s Danny Bawa Chrisnanta- Chayut Triyachart.
