The Sumirubber-Vietnam Co. Ltd. was licensed on February 9 to invest in the Normura Industrial Zone in northern Hai Phong province.

The wholly foreign-invested project, with a registered capital of US$10 million, will specialise in assembling components and producing rubber and plastic products for office equipment, audiovisual devices and other electronic products, transport vehicles, household utensils, and medical devices. All products will be exported in its operation period of 39 years.

The project is scheduled to get off the ground soon and officially start operation in October with the employment of 200 local workers.

This is the largest FDI project among three projects registered in the industrial zone over the past month.
