The VietGames 2006 organising board has received 33 entries, including one from an Australian man of Vietnamese origin.

Pham Tan Cong, Secretary General of the Vietnam Software Enterprises Association (VINASA), announced at a press briefing in Hanoi on May 17 that the event will be held to select the top four players to compete at the upcoming Electronic Sports World Cup final round in France.

Organisers from VINASA said that products for online games and games for domestic and international mobile phones have so far dominated the entries.

All domestic products have been programmed on the basis of 3D technology, the most advanced so far, with designs featuring the culture of Vietnam in particular and the Orient in general.
