The Vietnamese Government's due attention to Canadian-funded administrative and judicial reform projects has demonstrated its commitments to fighting corruption, according to a Canadian diplomat.

The statement was made by Christopher Burton, who chaired an APEC anti-corruption seminar in Hanoi on February 25. He added that Vietnam's chairmanship of the anti-corruption and transparency task force in the lead-up to APEC summit showed the country's efforts to fight the phenomenon.

Obviously, the fight against corruption is one of the Vietnamese Government’s top priorities and Vietnam has actively discussed the topic in APEC conferences, he noted.

The Canadian diplomat said that anti-corruption is important for all countries, especially for countries seeking foreign investment and building up their economic ties with other countries.
