In addition to tours of interesting places in Hanoi and nearby localities, Hanoi Tourist company has designed discovery tours of landscapes and historical sites in the southern region, including Nha Trang bay, and Nha Rong port and Cu Chi underground tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietravel is promoting a programme for 10 tours before and after the APEC Meeting, including one-day Hanoi tours for guests to visit Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), Vietnam's first university, or travel to the ceramic village of Bat Trang about 20 km from Hanoi. The firm is also running a special tour, called Cooking tour, where visitors go to the major markets and enjoy Vietnamese special dishes prepared from fresh meat and vegetables bought on the spot. The tourists will also be provided with recipes of favourite dishes.

After the Meeting, the delegates can relax for two to five days at famous resorts in Vietnam such as Sa Pa in northern Lao Cai province, Ha Long bay in northeast Quang Ninh province and the Hoi An ancient town in central Quang Nam province.
