Before closing the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee’s 36th session, NA deputies on January 20 gave opinions to the draft law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the NA Organisation Law so as to increase the efficiency of NA activities.

On behalf of the draft law compiling board, member of the NA Standing Committee and chairman of the NA Office Bui Ngoc Thanh made report on the reestablishment and new establishment of some NA committees, including the law committee, the judiciary committee, economics committee and the financial and banking committee. The draft law aims to ensure that NA committees will perform their functions and responsibilities better.

Accordingly, apart from the NA Ethnicity Council, the NA has nine committees, namely the law committee, the judiciary committee, economics committee, the financial and banking committee, the national security and defence committee, the culture and youth education committee, the social affairs committee, the science, technology and environment committee, and the external relations committee.

The same day, the NA Standing Committee also discussed preparations to publish a part one of a complete NA document.
