“The Creation” Oratorio composed by Joseph Haydn was performed at the Hanoi Opera House on April 6 by the Vietnamese and German Choir, Soli and Orchestras, opening a German cultural week in Vietnam.

“The Creation” was first performed at Wiener Burgtheatre in 1799 and at many theatres around the world ever since. This is the first time it has been performed in Vietnam with the participation of 200 singers and instrumentalists.

The Oratorio is about the first seven days of the world, from God creating light to appearance of the first two humans– Adam and Eve.

The performance left a deep impression on spectators.
