A conference was held in Hanoi on December 20 by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to honour outstanding activists and collaborators in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The event drew the participation of 500 delegates and representatives from relevant ministries, agencies and international organisations.

Addressing the conference, deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, who is also the chairman of the National Committee on HIV/AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution Prevention emphasised that health workers and collaborators are the key force in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Vietnam, which requires joint efforts of the whole society.

At the conference, the Ministry of Health (MoH) presented certificates of merit to 195 health workers and collaborators for their great contribution in the 2005-2008 period.

The same day, an art performance was co-organised by the MoH and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to welcome the success of the conference.
