A presentation ceremony for the Vifotec Awards was held in Hanoi on January 5 to honour the country’s finest scientific and technological achievements in 2005.

Director of Vifotec Fund Dr Le Xuân Thao announced the winners of 69 prizes for individuals and organisations at the event. He said he was pleased the contest received so much attention from students, some of whom were awarded prizes.

Nguyen Thuy Chi won the top prize for her project to gauge the temperature fields of objects being baked. Organisers submitted the project to the World Intellectual Property Organisation Awards in the "outstanding students in science and technology research" category.

Other Vifotec Award winners included groups involved in projects for the Ho Chi Minh City National University.

The Vifotec Awards are held every year by the organisation in conjunction with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
