Mozambique hopes to boost economic cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in the area of agriculture, said a leading Mozambique official.
Mozambique Minister of Industry and Trade Antonio Fernando made the statement during his meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem in Hanoi on June 12.
Minister Fernando also said Mozambique wants to export more commodities to Vietnam and import food from the Southeast Asian countries, including rice to ensure its food security.
According to the minister, his Vietnam visit aims to implement the cooperative agreements, particularly in trade, between the two countries.
Deputy PM Khiem said that there is potential for cooperation and mutual assistance in national construction and development due to the two countries’ similarities.
