The Ministry of Fisheries on Monday reviewed work in 2005 and discussed measures to fulfil tasks for 2006. It aims to net US$2.8 billion from exports this year, up nearly 6 percent compared to 2005.

In 2006, the ministry will continue to rearrange production and manage aquaculture zones, and develop a factory processing network, services, fishing ports and markets.

The ministry considers 2006 an important year to make breakthroughs in public administrative reform and production structuring, thereby shifting from fast growth to sustainable development.
