The contest is open to Vietnamese pupils under 15 years old (from grade 5 to 10). The entry is required to be less than 800 words and sent to the organizing board between October 9, 2014 and March 8, 2015 according to post mark.
This year’s contest has 39 awards, including 1 first prize worth VND5 million, three second prizes worth VND3 million each, five third prizes worth VND2 million each, and 30 consolation prizes.
The UPU annual contest aims to help children raise their awareness on social and global issues, promote solidarity and friendship among nations and gain a better understanding about the role of the postal sector in life and social development.
On the occasion, the ogranising board presented the consolation prize of the 43rd UPU International Letter Writing Contest to Pham Phuong Thao, a seventh grader at Chu Van An secondary school. This is the 10th time Vietnamese students won international awards.
At the ceremony, Vu A Dinh Fund also granted scholarships to 30 outstanding and disadvantaged pupils in Haiphong City.
