The exercise will take place in the second and third week of May, French military officials have said.

On April 15, the carrier arrived in HCM City for a 6-day port of call before continuing to Tinian island.

The 21,300-ton Mistral-class ship, which is also a helicopter carrier, is among the French Navy most powerful and modern assets. The ship can carry up to four amphibious landing craft and 16 heavy or 35 light helicopters.
