VOV.VN - A number of Brazilian football superstars such as Dunga, Rivaldo, Lucio, Roberto Carlos, Giovanni, Jose Kleberson, Edmilson and Paulo Sergio, arrived in Da Nang on April 26 for a friendly footfall festival.

Many of the superstars, including Rivaldo, Paulo Sergio, Roberto Carlos and Edmilson, won the 1994 and 2002 FIFA World Cup.

They, together with 10 other young Brazilian players, will take part in the Vietnam – Brazil football festival to mark 35 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries (1989-2023).

The festival is scheduled to take place at Hoa Xuan stadium in Cam Le district on April 27-28.

In the friendly match to take place on April 27, the Brazilian team coached by Dunga will play the Vietnamese team comprising veteran stars such as Le Huynh Duc, Nguyen Minh Phuong, Nguyen Hong Son, Huynh Quoc Anh, Chau Le Phuoc Vinh and Le Cong Vinh.

Young Vietnamese players like Nguyen Tien Linh and Que Ngoc Hai will also join the team.

The festival will be jointly held by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, and Da Nang Tourism Association under the auspices of the Brazilian Embassy.

The event is an opportunity to promote tourism and sports connections between the two countries, creating a premise for the future development of international sports tourism in Da Nang city, said organisers.
