Viettel’s defence tech introduced at exhibitions in Malaysia

VOV.VN - The Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) has showcased its high-tech defence industry products at the 18th Defence Service Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA18) and the 3rd National Security Asia (NATSEC) exhibition in Malaysia.

The event saw Viettel High Tech (VHT), a subsidiary of the Viettel Group, state that it is ready to work alongside global partners to become a product co-developer, whilst also customising products according to customers' specific needs.

Customization is VHT’s advantage compared to other large global defence industry enterprises and corporations.

VHT not only introduced advanced military product systems, but also displayed component modules, thereby reflecting the ability to research, master core technology, and design each product component.

In particular, after the success of contracts to deploy 5G systems in India, including the contract signed at the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2022, VHT also has new opportunities for further co-operation in the field of defence and dual-use products.

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and head of the organizing board of the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition, said that this exhibition has opened up many prospects for defence linkages with other countries, especially in the field of defence industry and defence enterprises with corresponding partners, specifically Malaysia.

He emphasized that based on this foundation of co-operation, Vietnam-Malaysia defence ties will become increasingly better and commensurate with their strategic partnership.

Highlighting the significance of attending this exhibition, Nguyen Vu Ha, general director of VHT, commented that through the exhibition, Viettel has introduced its research capacity and mastery of defence technology to friends in the region and around the world. Viettel's products are therefore completely similar to major global defence product manufacturers, he added.

Furthermore, Viettel has also signed many Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Malaysian partners and a number of other groups, thereby showing that partners are highly interested in Viettel's products.

He said that through the exhibition, Viettel has learned and grasped the trends of new generation weapon technology, thereby perfecting its research and product development goals.

Visiting Viettel's booth at the exhibition, General Ith Sarath, deputy commander in Chief of Joint Staff of the Royal Cambodian Army, said that Viettel is a major partner of the Cambodian army and has greatly supported his nation. Viettel's booth was impressive and attracted many visitors because of new trends and in accordance with the times.

Viettel High Tech represents Viettel at one of the world's top five defence and security exhibitions. In its 18-year history, this year’s event is considered to have the largest scale, with the participation of over 1,200 enterprises from 60 countries and territories. Nearly 400 delegations from 45 countries and 50,000 visitors also attend the event.

Many of the world's leading companies in the defence sector such as BAE Systems, Raytheon, SAAB, and Thales regularly participate in the event, along with leading Malaysian firms like Boustead, DEFTECH, and Sapura.

Viettel has so far invested in 10 foreign markets across three continents, including Asia, America, and Africa.

Viettel's brand value is determined by Brand Finance to be US$4.3 billion, which means it is among the leading 500 brands in the world, whilst also being the most valuable brand in Vietnam.
