Images of Vietnamese localities promoted in US
VOV.VN - The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN held a recent working session with a delegation of the provincial Party Committees of Gia Lai, Ha Nam, Ha Tinh, Hoa Binh, Thua Thien - Hue, and Yen Bai within the framework of this year’s Vietnamese local promotion programme in the US.
The delegation was led by Hoang Trung Dung, a member of the Party Central Committee, secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and chairman of the People's Council of Ha Tinh province.
At the working session, on behalf of the working group, Dung hailed the achievements recently recorded by the Vietnam Permanent Mission in terms of carrying out foreign affairs in strategically important areas, thereby contributing to protecting interests and constantly raising the nation’s profile and role in the international arena.
Underlining the importance of boosting international co-operation and attracting financial and technological resources from outside for the socio-economic development of localities in the country, Dung expressed hope that the mission and representative agencies in New York will continue to actively support the six provinces in connecting with reputable and suitable partners. This will be done in a bid to further promote trade exchanges and investment attraction in areas that these localities are interested in and the US boasts strengths in.
Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Charge d'Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, stated his joy at welcoming the delegation’s working trip to New York.
Briefing the delegation on the situation and results of work performances, Charge d'Affaires Nguyen Hoang Nguyen emphasized that in addition to the focus on multilateral foreign affairs at the UN, the mission and representative agencies in New York always places great importance on co-ordination and support to localities. This serves to demonstrate many specific activities on the four pillars of political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, and consular work- citizen protection.
Representatives of the mission and agencies in New York affirmed that moving forward they will continue to pay attention to and make efforts to serve as a bridge for the six Vietnamese localities to strengthen relationships with partners in the US based on the specific needs of each locality.
During the working visit, the delegation had a working session at the UN headquarters and visited the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
