At a December 5 reception for Chang Dae-Whan, Chairman of the RoK-based Maekyung Media Group, in Hanoi on December 5, PM Phuc praised the efforts by Maekyung and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize a Vietnam-RoK economic forum, marking the 25th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
He suggested Korean groups develop manufacturing hubs in a multitude of fields such as electronics and auto components while ensuring environmental standards.
As a major media group in the RoK, Maekyung needs to impart more information to encourage Korean enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam, Phuc told his guest.
Chang Dae-Whan said his government expects that the Vietnamese government will provide more support for Korean enterprises, particularly for those implementing major industrial projects.
He expressed hope that the success of Vietnam-RoK economic forum would help attract more Korean investments into the country.
